During the winter months, the weather is friendlier in the south and southwest of the island (Jaffna, Mannar, Anuradhapura, Trinncolamee). In the east and north-east of Sri Lanka, much more rain is falling.
In spring and summer, holidaymakers will find the best conditions in the east and northeast of the island (Negombo, Colombo, Hikkaduwa, Unawatuna). In the south and southwest it is very rainy and changeable during this time.
